Update #31: GPREP Deactivated, Evacuation Alert Remains in Place
Grande Prairie — Saturday, June 14, 2025, 12:15 p.m. – The Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership (GPREP) has been deactivated.
An evacuation alert remains in place for everyone north of Township Road 710 to 740, east of the British Columbia/Alberta border to Range Road 132.
The wildfire is still being classified as out of control. County Regional Fire Service crews will continue to monitor the area. Ongoing smoke may be visible. Residents should call 911 if they see any open flame.
A fire ban remains in effect for the entire County of Grande Prairie. Residents are urged to adhere to the fire ban which was issued due to dry conditions and recent wildfire activity in the region. The current fire hazard is extreme.
Copies of the Re-Entry Plan for Kiskatinaw River Wildfire Evacuees were distributed to affected residents and can be found online under the Resources section at www.gprep.ca. Further updates will be made from the County of Grande Prairie official sources.
Weather and Fire Behaviour
Today rain and northwest winds (10–15 km/h) are expected, with a high of 14°C and humidity above 75%. Fire behaviour should remain low and similar to yesterday. Sunday will bring scattered showers, possible afternoon thunderstorms, and moderate humidity as temperatures rise.
Operations Update
Crews from the BC Wildfire Service and Alberta Wildfire will continue with fire suppression efforts.
