UPDATED Gas leak response underway in Grande Prairie

UPDATED 

The evacuation order has ended and residents are permitted to return to their homes.

The gas leak has been contained and there are no further gas readings in the area.

ATCO Power and ATCO Gas remain on scene to restore services.

No further public safety impacts are reported at this time.

 

Grande Prairie RCMP, Grande Prairie Fire Department and ATCO are responding to a gas leak in Grande Prairie.

Residents in the immediate area have been evacuated while emergency crews respond. The appropriate response teams are on scene and managing the incident.

The public is asked to avoid the area of 102 Avenue and Township Road 714, between 93 Street and 94 Street, while response activities are underway.

There is currently no confirmed timeline for when evacuated residents will be able to return home.
