Update #25: Evacuation Order, Alert Downgraded  

Grande Prairie — Tuesday, June 11, 2025, 5:00 p.m. – Due to favorable conditions and continuous firefighting efforts, the County of Grande Prairie has downgraded the evacuation order and alert in specific areas. The 21,679-hectare wildfire is still classified as out of control. 

  • Everyone north of Township Road 700 to 710 can return home. Everyone north of Township Road 740 to Highway 43, west of the BC/AB border to Range Road 130 can return home. These areas remain on evacuation alert.  
  • The evacuation alert remains in effect for everyone north of Township Road 710 to 740, east of Range Road 130 to 124.  
  • The evacuation alert is outlined in the yellow area of the attached map. Residents in areas under an evacuation alert should be prepared to leave with 30 minutes’ notice. 
  • The evacuation order remains in effect for everyone north of Township Road 710 to 740, east of the British Columbia/ Alberta border to Range Road 130. The evacuation order is outlined in the red area of the attached map. 

Residents in areas under an evacuation alert should remain prepared to leave on short notice. Whenever an evacuation order is issued, residents have just 30 minutes to leave. 

Alberta Evacuee Resources: 

  • GPREP Call Centre: Call 780-830-5002, 9:00 am to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11.  
  • As of Thursday, June 12, the Call Centre hours will be reduced to 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. 
  • As of Thursday, June 12, Reception Centre hours will be reduced to 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. 
  • Register livestock with the County’s Livestock Emergency Response Plan (LERP): Contact the GPREP Call Centre at 780-830-5002 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
