Update #28: Improving Conditions Allow Return in Some Areas 

Grande Prairie — Thursday, June 12, 2025, 5:00 p.m. – Due to recent rainfall, favourable weather conditions, and the continued efforts of firefighting crews, the County of Grande Prairie has downgraded the evacuation order and alert in specific areas. The wildfire has now grown to 26,628 hectares and remains classified as out of control. 

  • Everyone north of Township Road 710 to Township Road 740, east of Range Road 132 to Range Road 130 can return home. This area remains on evacuation alert.  
  • The evacuation alert is outlined in the yellow area of the attached map. Residents in areas under an evacuation alert should be prepared to leave with 30 minutes’ notice. 
  • The evacuation order remains in effect for everyone north of Township Road 710 to 740, east of the British Columbia/ Alberta border to Range Road 132. The evacuation order is outlined in the red area of the attached map. 

Residents in areas under an evacuation alert should remain prepared to leave on short notice. Whenever an evacuation order is issued, residents have just 30 minutes to leave.
